Who We Are
Who are we:
- NPNS Inc. is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, literary, and educational purposes.
- Our purpose is to build community assets through community organization with the intent to improve the quality of life for residents of the City of Portland.
- We support subscribing neighborhood associations and community based organizations in our district.
- Board list (with pics?), contact email (can this be secure?) and affiliations.
Insurance:
- We negotiate with insurance companies and purchase a collective policy for Directors & Officers and General Liability insurance on behalf of individual boards and encourage activities.
- Intake form (to collect info from participating groups): questionnaire form insurance carrier will provide you with all the info we’ll need to collect. Forms will have to be secure).
Training:
- Board roles and responsibilities including financial responsibilities:
- Building capacity
- Embracing diversity in all ways, inviting participation of all Portlanders
- Non profit training to maintain active status, including; Oregon Secretary of State, Oregon Department of Justice, Internal Revenue Service ( if the group is a 501c3 organization).
- Understanding what a fiscal sponsor is and do, both from a perspective as a sponsor, and/or a sponsoree.
Continuity:
- Training materials will be available in an online “lockable filing cabinet” for groups so secure docs don’t get lost from one volunteer to another.
- Historical data, demographics and past event info.
Resources:
- Contact information (with live links) for City, State, County and non-governmental organizations that support neighborhood associations and community based organizations.
- We explore how club members can save $$ by combining memberships in online services – like Zoom, Mail Chimp, others
- Year long calendar
